5 Wii Games I Want To See Ported To Or Remastered On The Switch

With the recent release of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, I thought to myself how the Wii has such a solid library and some games I really want to see get a second chance in the spotlight of modern consoles. There are so many to chose from, so I decided to pick just a few for today, and in no particular order. I would be excited to see all of these if they were ported but even more so remastered. Here are five Wii games, in no particular order I would love to see remastered or even ported.

Punch Out

I will not linger on this one too long as I recently covered it. This game is arcade goodness, can be tough as nails but also just as rewarding. Good art style, good gameplay, and even challenges to add additional replay factor to the already lengthy campaign, this addition to modern consoles, would be a knockout choice.

Fortune Street

This game is so much fun. A remaster would suit it well, for those who do not know, this is like Nintendo and Square Enix monopoly. Going around, buying, selling, getting stocks, and trying not go broke in the process. The game does run long, like long enough you could fit in two rounds of Mario Party. I think a remaster with some added modes, a speed round mode, and more options would be the polish this gem needs. The game is super fun with just one or two things holding it back, and I want to see it come back akin to how Mario Party and Dokapon Kingdom have gotten multiple releases in recent years.

 Super Mario Galaxy 2

This game deserves to be on modern consoles. I and many others have been asking where this super fun, space adventure has been since the Super Mario 3D All Stars collection came and went. When it was not included I was scratching my head and wondering when Super Mario Galaxy 2 would get ported off of the Wii, alongside the incredible first game. Having replayed this on original hardware very recently, I had a blast with this, great music, great levels, good power ups. It is more Mario Galaxy and that is a good thing to have more of. Yoshi adds a ton this game as well, this game is packed to the brim with good things and deserves to make the leap to modern hardware. And the 3D All Stars collection should also be put back and not taken away again, but that is a topic for a different day.

Wii Sports Resort/ Make A Switch Sports Resort

Nintendo Switch Sports, held some promise but fell flat due to some different choices, one of them being a focus on online only gameplay. A second attempt could lead to something great, and I, alongside so many others, want to return to Wuhu Island. I want to go back there so bad. I want a follow up, I do not care if they use the new Avatar characters instead of Miis. I just want a pack with a ton of single player options, great multiplayer options, and the vibes of Wuhu Island. I think if online was a feature instead of a mode, and the game was presented as something that is fun to play alone, online, or with friends, much like Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, we could have something great.

Tatsunoko V.S Capcom

This is one of my favorite fighting games of all time. The style, presentation, roaster, and music is all basically perfect. Using characters I never heard of didn't matter because the game was just so fun to play and had so much style to it. This is my favorite of the Capcom V.S series, and even helped lead to Marvel V.S Capcom 3 (That is true, look it up). The licensing making it so this game is a dream come true that it ever came to American shores, and I am so glad I did. I find myself popping in this fighting game alongside so many of my yearly replays, such as various Street Fighter games, Soul Calibur 2, and now even the Marvel V.S Capcom series thanks to the new collection. This game needs to come back and stand alongside these amazing titles, and I will keep hoping this comes so many others can experience how awesome it is.

So what Wii games do you want to see remastered or ported? Feel free to comment and have a great day!
