Karate Kid Legends... The Most Okay Around (Spoiler Free)

Image
(KarateKid.Film) I love Cobra Kai, even though I have never seen a Karate Kid movie in full, I plan to fix that someday, but it shows how great Cobra Kai is as a show because they give the watcher the information they need, showing or telling the audience who characters are and how they tie to the plot. When this movie was announced I was pretty excited because I thought that this could be the epilogue to a show that I really enjoy. Is this the epilogue, another stepping stone in this long running 80's franchise? I got back from the theater and here are my thoughts. This is more tied to the 2010 Karate Kid with Jaiden Smith and Jackie Chan then it does to the 80's property. From the intro on it ties what many, myself thought was a reboot but is now tied ...

Movie Montages

With Karate Kid Legends coming out , I have been listening to the song "You're The Best" to get ready for it. Who am I kidding, I listen to that song to hype myself for everything from errands to writing, to making posts for this blog. And it got me thinking about montage songs from movies such as "Eye Of The Tiger" or "Hearts On Fire", yes I used two examples from Rocky. But there are also great ones that have just instrumental songs. So let's talk about montages. A good montage in a movie, whether the song has lyrics or is instrumental can not only fit well in the movie, make a passage of time more entertaining, show character or plot development or both, and can even inspire the audience. When I think of a montage, I think of a film fast tracking a character from point A to point B, by grouping some of the more tedious steps in a process. Such as training, someone to get better at a sport would have to do that over and over, and so, why not use...

May Hero Academia Finale: Curtain Call

It has been fun talking about MHA and I am sure I will do it again, perhaps next May and even some times before then, I do want to talk about anime alongside games, movies, shows, YouTube, or whatever thought comes to my mind when I should be asleep. This will be the finale, just in case I come up with something new that isn't MHA related, but this opening is so good, that I wanted to go through it. "Curtain Call" was the second opening in this second to last season and the 13th opening in the series. After season one every season has had two openings and I have even covered a couple on this blog, I probably come back to the topic as a whole when the series has finished, and perhaps even other MHA topics. I love this opening song so much I want to talk about it now. also SPOILERS AHEAD, because this opening does show some topics I want to lightly touch on. As we are in the midst of the final battle the song lives up to its title, we are at the curtain call before everyon...

May Hero Academia: What If The TMNT Crossed Over With MHA

Recently the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossed over with the world of Naruto. I love the TMNT and have plans to make more content about them in the near future but I thought as we continue down this themed month for My Hero Academia, why not raise a question. What if the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossed over with My Hero Academia? And if it did, what I think it could look like or what I would think would be cool.  I think that it could take place during the earlier seasons like 1, 2, or 3, and would involve UA taking a field trip to America. There they could meet the TMNT and reveal not only did the ooze create the turtles but it also gave them super powers. So they could have additional powers aside from being giant mutant turtles.  We could see Star And Stripes as well as other American heroes and get some more screen time with them. And perhaps even have flashbacks of young All Might. Perhaps even the Turtles could of met All Might in the past or even Splinter ...

May Hero Academia: It's Your Power Not His, The Story Of Shoto Todoroki And Becoming Your Own Kind Of Hero

This Post Contains Spoilers. Heads Up! In My Hero Academia, there are a ton of great characters to see in the show and even relate to. There are a ton of characters in the show I find super cool, but my top three are Mirio, All Might, and Shoto Todoroki. The last of the three is the one I wanted to focus on today.  Todoroki wielding the powers of both fire and ice already made him inherently no pun intended, cool. Then the show dived deeper into his character in one of my favorite arcs of the show which is the UA Sports Festival. MHA has multiple tournament arcs but the ones I enjoy the most are the UA Sports Festival and The Heroes Licensing Exam.  The UA Sports Festival has many different hype moments, it has a great blend of action, comedy, and emotion. Plenty of great matches, character development, and even has a good set up for the next art. It checks off every box that makes it a solid anime arc. This arc coming after the end of the first season was great because we get...

May Hero Academia: Keka Orai The Prequels Amazing Opening Song (My Hero Academia Vigilantes)

For the month of May I am covering all sorts of My Hero Academia based topics, from movies, to songs, to characters and episodes. Diving into one of my favorite super hero anime's, my favorite still being "Tiger And Bunny", if Vigilantes keeps its pace I will like it more then base My Hero since I loved the manga that much and I have been watching and enjoying "Samurai Flamenco" tons. Speaking of Vigilantes since I am dedicating a whole month to My Hero content I wanted to talk about this at least once, and since I covered the first episode, pieces of the manga, and the anime adaptation is very early on, before I get into the main series I wanted to tackle the prequel series. The amazing prequel that was made canon. I am going to talk about the opening and trust me, there is a main series My Hero opening that I will be covering before the month is over among other topics but today is a day for Pop Step, Knuckle Duster and the man who wishes to help those in nee...
