May Hero Academia: Keka Orai The Prequels Amazing Opening Song (My Hero Academia Vigilantes)

For the month of May I am covering all sorts of My Hero Academia based topics, from movies, to songs, to characters and episodes. Diving into one of my favorite super hero anime's, my favorite still being "Tiger And Bunny", if Vigilantes keeps its pace I will like it more then base My Hero since I loved the manga that much and I have been watching and enjoying "Samurai Flamenco" tons. Speaking of Vigilantes since I am dedicating a whole month to My Hero content I wanted to talk about this at least once, and since I covered the first episode, pieces of the manga, and the anime adaptation is very early on, before I get into the main series I wanted to tackle the prequel series. The amazing prequel that was made canon. I am going to talk about the opening and trust me, there is a main series My Hero opening that I will be covering before the month is over among other topics but today is a day for Pop Step, Knuckle Duster and the man who wishes to help those in need while sticking to surfaces THE CRAWLER.

For the first opening of this show, it was not just a solid hit, it was a grand slam, knocked right out of the park. The visuals of this opening much like the show it belongs to just fly off the screen and pop so well. The visuals capture the super hero comic book feel while still looking incredible, showing off important characters and having great visuals. The color choice is so striking and stands out in all the right ways, even giving each character their own hero title card that also look incredible. Each moment captures the vibe the show gives off and even of the characters being showcased without spoiling the story that is unfolding. Seeing striking comic book like visuals and panels through the opening is just the cherry on the sundae.

The song itself works well within the opening and ties well with the visuals but also stands out as a song on its own. It can be listened to as the TV size, in full, or watched. Any way works, the song is just super bouncy and hype. It feels like a super hero theme song which once again fits this world so well. Looking up the translations on the lyrics reveals that this is a song about someone becoming a hero who did not have many ambitions in life. Knowing the lyrics adds another layer to my enjoyment of the song, and I hope that English covers of this song begin to come up because I enjoy listening to the originals releases and covers of anime openings.

This opening stands alongside some of my favorite My Hero Academia opening and I always sit through it when watching the show. The song hypes me up, and knowing what is being said is great. Hearing a song about someone chasing their dreams of being a hero despite being tired, and maybe not the best of the best is great. I love super hero stories where the team is made up of outcasts or those labeled as lesser than super heroes who still want to help others and make a difference. The opening captures some of the main themes of the show both visually and through the song.

I love listening to the song on its own as it just fills me with excitement, and much like a great Sentai opening is just awesome. Full of energy and with great instrumentals. I am sure I am going to be listening to this song well after the show has wrapped up, and as I wait in between seasons. I can easily see this opening making it on my most listened to end of the year list, as I enjoy it that much. Whether just for fun or to hype myself up, this opening is great and I highly recommend you give it a listen.
