When A Character Leaves A Show

Spoilers Ahead For: Community, Apothecary Diaries, And Other Series Mentioned In This Blog Posts. "Sometimes people leave you, halfway through the woods..." the lyrics Stephen Sondheim wrote before the curtain fell during "Into The Woods" not only are beautiful and come with a soft but wonderful instrumentation, but hold truth as well. We hold those we love close, friends, family, but sometimes people drift apart. Whether in the midst of conflict or because the conflict comes from the outside, from life itself, sometime things fade away. This can also be true for the shows we watch, sometimes our favorite characters do not see us to the finale, sometimes characters leave, and I wanted to talk about that. Whether a character is written out, an actor decides to leave the project, someone passes away who plays the character and the character is removed from the show out of respect for the deceased. There are many ways a character can leave the show, whether there is of...

James Gunn's Superman Was The Movie I Needed To See Right Now (Spoiler Free)

Image
I was hoping this movie would be good, I love Superman and wanted to see a movie that felt like a comic book come to life, trying my best not to have my expectations for this film be to high. I was super excited for this film, telling many how it alongside the Looney Tunes film "They Day The Earth Blew Up" were my most anticipated films coming out this year, my excitement building as I got closer to seeing both films. Much like that Looney Tunes film, not only were my hopes met, but they were surpassed in every way, leaving smiling ear to ear as I felt like a little kid again. I didn't like this movie, I LOVED it.  This movie will probably be my favorite movie of 2025, if not in the top three, I loved it that much. The action, writing, acting, music, the message, and the visuals, all of it felt like a comic book come to life. A comic book I would want to read over and over.  I will not dive to much into the story as I want to keep this post spoiler free, and dive deeper...

F1: High Octane, Fast Paced, Ambition (Spoiler Free)

(Source: Regal Cinemas) I still have not seen Top Gun Maverick, but this film who was also directed by the mind behind it Joseph Kosinski made me want to check it out, also he directed Tron Legacy which I saw in theaters back in the day and that film is amazing. But today is not about planes, or a digital world, it is about F1 racing. When I first saw the glowing praise this movie was getting I had to check it out for myself, and so I did, here are my thoughts. F1 follows Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes who does all kinds of races, gets called back into the world of formula one racing, he has to team up with  a new up and comer named Joshua Pearce played by Damson Idris , and work with an old friend, work with a new team and try to take this losing team to the top of the leaderboards before it is too late. There is drama, different view points on life, backstories, and of course tons of racing. This movie is really good, I had a great time watching it from start to finish. The a...

Chicken Sandwiches And Food Videos On YouTube

I love a good chicken sandwich lately, from a fast food establishment or a sit down restaurant, a good piece of crispy chicken on a bun with some sauce, and I am set to go. One other thing I have been enjoying so much recently are food videos, whether it is someone eating at a restaurant every day for a week and some sort of food challenge, to cooking and reviews. Sometimes I combine the two because it just works, I love when something just works. Like only watching certain videos late at night because they remind me of classic MTV and G4, sometimes we just find a combination that brings comfort. I love all sorts of food based videos. I love PBG's food challenges of eating fast food or store bought food every day for a week, or someone trying a bunch of similar items and comparing. From value menus to specialty items that won't stay on the menu forever, sometimes watching someone try it first makes me want to try promotional food or new specialty menu items as well, it's j...

Renting Movies Then And Now

Back when I was a kid, when I wasn't seeing a movie like "Star Wars Episode III : Revenge Of The Sith" or the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" films in theaters among plenty of other films both animated and live action, I loved going to the rental store. I loved getting a game and a couple movies, spending weekends all year round trying a game I did not have the funds to purchase or watching a movie that had long finished its run on the silver screen that I did not own or never got a theatrical run or even and I am a dating myself by saying this... a VHS tape. The rental store was a super cool place to go and find something new, or something I loved and borrow it for a little while, whether it was a weekend, a long weekend, school break, or just because, it was always the good time to go and rent games and movies. I did a whole podcast episode on game rental memories so I wanted to talk about my nostalgia for business that allowed you to rent things, and the current ...
