Chicken Sandwiches And Food Videos On YouTube
I love a good chicken sandwich lately, from a fast food establishment or a sit down restaurant, a good piece of crispy chicken on a bun with some sauce, and I am set to go. One other thing I have been enjoying so much recently are food videos, whether it is someone eating at a restaurant every day for a week and some sort of food challenge, to cooking and reviews. Sometimes I combine the two because it just works, I love when something just works. Like only watching certain videos late at night because they remind me of classic MTV and G4, sometimes we just find a combination that brings comfort.
I love all sorts of food based videos. I love PBG's food challenges of eating fast food or store bought food every day for a week, or someone trying a bunch of similar items and comparing. From value menus to specialty items that won't stay on the menu forever, sometimes watching someone try it first makes me want to try promotional food or new specialty menu items as well, it's just plain fun. Humorous food descriptions or funny edits taking something we all do which is eating and making it fun, is another reason I keep coming back to food videos. Of course the challenges of going to every Rain Forest Cafe or Margaritaville done by Eddie Burback and Ted Nivison are art and deserve an Oscar for the entertainment provided watching these two not only eat way too much of one menu but also traveling a long distance to do so, the ultimate food challenge videos. From those or someone trying food in specific ways, hours, or on repeat, I always am not only entertained by this but find myself almost curious to try some of the food shown.
I like learning history of certain restaurants or follow news based on them, it's fun to watch videos from Food Theory on current trends or information about the restaurants that serve these food. Watching Good Boy Noah who raps every recipe that is cooked up with a puppet of a cheetah has always been a fun way to relax and I genuinely not only enjoy the music but also want to try some of the recipes being shown. Food content can be served to the viewer in so many ways. Even talking about a restaurant in general or giving facts without even eating the food especially if the establishment is no longer around is always fun information to hear and then share with friends when just hanging out.
But how does this connect to my recent enjoyment of trying chicken sandwiches from so many different eateries? Well I did see a video comparing them that did make me crave a chicken sandwich and it just hasn't stopped but because it can be enjoyable but also comforting.
Much like the chicken sandwich this content is familiar, I have seen it, or had it before, and there is a certain comfort in familiarity. We all need to eat, and all of us like eating things that we enjoy. How many of us have a food item we order every single time without fail when going to some of our favorite places to dine? I know I do. So seeing someone taking something I have to do, which is eat and take it above and beyond by doing a challenge, sharing facts, or even preparing the food in creative way, brings a smile to my face. Food can connect us on a deep level, if we share the same tastes or not, everyone, myself included has an opinion on food. Watching Eddy Burback stomach plate after plate of safari fries, or PBG eat a frozen pizza every day, is something I could do. I COULD do some of these challenges shown given time, budget, and preparation, if I want to, but sometimes it is fun to just enjoy the food I want to eat that day and watch some else do it. I may not have the funding to go to Italy to compare it Olive Garden but I will happily watch Eddy do it.
Sometimes challenges can involve a different diet style, or cutting out sugar or caffeine. Each of these style of videos can only be replicated in my opinions after consulting a physician in the cases of medication and such. But if the green light is given, it could be fun to see someone you follow try to change in a healthier direction and maybe even apply some of their experiences to your own life, or just a conversation, everyone's health journey is different. Sometimes when a video involves trying to replicate a food item, talk about an individual food item and discuss it, or try to make something that was discontinued shows how truly limitless this topic can be.
In the case of PBG eating items found in grocery store videos, I have seen those, especially the frozen pizza videos and wanted to try something then the brands I always get. Sometimes it's fun to step out of the familiar and order something we never tried, or try and make something we saw in a video. Whether it is cooking a full on meal step by step as seen online, saving a recipe, or in my case just putting a pizza in the oven, it's fun to try new things with friends or just for ourselves.
So I really enjoy a good chicken sandwich and when I have one, I like to thrown on a fun food video that is new to me, or I have never seen before. Enjoying my meal as I watch someone hopefully enjoying theirs and perhaps learning a thing or two. It's a nice comforting part of my week to engage in, and sometimes I get on a food video kick while just cleaning or playing Marvel Snap. They work as great background noise, as well as quality entertainment when done well. Like a good chicken sandwich when done well, these kind of videos really hit the spot.
